The first few days after the ISL Light iOS release were rather hectic reaching over 1,000 downloads on the day following the release. But now after two weeks and a lot of debate over where and how to download and use the remote desktop for Apple’s mobile devices, it has all returned to a so-called normal state of affairs.
While the use of ISL Light iOS has taken off really smoothly by ISL Online Hosted Service (SaaS) users, Server License owners have been repeatedly asking us the same two questions. Sorry for that, we should have provided detailed instructions for Server License users together with the release. Anyway, better late than never, so let me offer them now:
Q: I am an ISL Online Server License user. Can I also use ISL Light iOS?
A: YES. Everybody with an active ISL Online license can use it and in the case of a Server License also a valid Extended Support Service is required.
Q: Great. What do I need to do?
A: There are 4 simple steps to follow:
1.) Upgrade your ISL Conference Proxy to the latest version of ISL Conference Proxy 3.3.3. and make sure you have updated other modules as well.
2.) Download ISL Light iOS from the App Store.
3.) In your iOS device (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch) choose Settings, find the ISL Light app and change the default Server address (www.islonline.net) to your ISL Conference Proxy server address.
4.) Run ISL Light app on your Apple mobile device and log in with your username and password.
That’s it. Enjoy remote support and computer access from your iPhone or iPad.
