The latest application, ISL Conference Proxy 4.0, which you install on a server to seamlessly take care of all your remote desktop sessions, includes an extensive list of more than 80 improvements and 40 fixes, some of which are extremely valuable particularly for corporate users. Even though the upgrade doesn’t reflect in altered end-user applications, it represents an important step towards the upcoming ISL Light 4.0 – the totally revamped and more powerful than ever remote desktop support software application, which is planned to be released by the end of the year (try ISL Light 4.0 beta). Here are some of the biggest improvements in ISL Online’s on-premises software.
Improved performance with new internal database architecture
ISL Online’s server application, ISL Conference Proxy 4.0, uses now PostgreSQL as the new database storage. First-time users, who are installing ISL Conference Proxy for the first time (version 4.0), will find PostgreSQL tables as the default database storage option. Those of you who are upgrading ISL Conference Proxy to the new version 4.0, will be offered to migrate to PostgreSQL tables.
Refreshed reporting and live monitoring for live chat
Interested in how remote desktop and live chat services are being used in your organisation? Then you will be happy to know that these reports have been completely redesigned, now offering real-time insights into live chat activities and detailed reports on all support activities. The new “Live dashboard” lets you monitor how busy your supporters are, the number of active chats, answered vs. unanswered chats, daily chat statistics, and more. Additionally, the redesigned reports give graphical and detailed insights into hourly, daily and weekly remote desktop and live chat usage in your organisation.
Email based login
Server License users running ISL Conference Proxy 4.0 don’t need to use the domain username (such as \\domain\username) to login anymore. They can log into an ISL Online application, e.g. ISL Light Desk, by simply using their email.
Support for the enterprise load balancer and security devices
More good news for corporate users: ISL Conference Proxy now supports installations with front-end security devices (F5 and similar) and installations in a special configuration reverse proxy (example Nginx or Apache proxy module). This should reduce delays, improve response times, redirects, and overall performance.
Optimized Online update
Updating ISL Conference Proxy server modules is now easier and faster. Users can now select the option ‘latest software only’ which will remove all old software versions and use only the latest ones.
A complete list of improvements, fixes and full release information is available in ISL Conference Proxy 4.0 release notes. You are kindly welcome to upgrade your Server License with the new ISL Conference Proxy 4.0 and let us know in the comments how much you like it. We know you will.
