ISL Online Among TOP-50 EU Companies Entering Asian ICT Markets
Given our interest in expanding our business to Southeast Asia, ISL Online applied for the Information & Communication Technologies (ICT) Business Mission to Singapore and Thailand within the EU Gateway | Business Avenues programme. The European Commission did a meticulous screening of applications from across Europe and picked 50 IT companies with the highest potential to enter the Asian market. ISL Online came out on the final line-up and is eager to take advantage of the opportunity.
During the first part of the business mission week (22 – 27 May 2017) ISL Online will travel to Singapore for a three-day showcase at the already mentioned CommunicAsia event. Then, the selected EU companies will travel to Thailand for prearranged business meetings with local companies.
From EU Gateway to Being Number One in Japan
This mission is not our first of a kind. Actually, we could say ISL Online is far from being an unknown in the EU Gateway initiative. The first time we participated in an EU Gateway programme was back in 2005 (and then we did it again in 2006, 2007 and 2009)! Along with other promising high-tech companies and under the auspices of the EU Gateway we approached the Japanese market for the first time. The contacts made through the Programme led ISL Online to a fruitful partnership with the OceanBridge Inc., which today is not only one of the most important ISL Online resellers, but also a true friend.
In roughly ten years a well-coordinated team ISL Online- OceanBridge have taken ISL Online software to the top of the Japanese remote desktop market. In April 2016 a renowned Japanese market research and consulting company, Seed Planning, Inc., published the results of their remote desktop market survey, where ISL Online came out as a definite winner in the on-premises market with a persuasive 44-percent share.
Yup, that was and still is a valuable journey that started with the EU Gateway to Japan. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for a similarly successful start again, this time on the ASEAN market!
